Alpine golf

We had a wonderful trip to Luzern, Switzerland, where we visited Stefan and Sereena. They took us for a ride over some mountain passes, and along the way we passed a golf course. The photo is of the 8th hole, a par-4 284-meter (311 yards). No water hazard! And the tee near the road is about 43 feet higher than the green, which is seen just above the tee in the photo. So how hard could it be?

Holy cow. That's some rough! "Well, there's a mountain hazard to the left and..."

How do you yell "Four!" in German?

This update: As in America, when people get a hole-in-one here in Germany the lucky golfer gets to treat everyone to a round of drinks. In this case, champagne is provided to everyone on the course, so nobody wants to get a hole-in-one due to the expense.

Luckily, there is insurance you can buy here to protect you from the expense of a hole-in-one!
